This family of flashcarts are DSTTi-based clones that ship with a timebomb in the stock kernel. This timebomb doesn’t cause any permanent damage - it simply stops the kernel from booting until the date is set back. It can be bypassed by using YSMenu or the no-timebomb version of the stock kernel. YSMenu is recommended since the stock kernel has issues with cheats, and doesn’t have folder support for file management.

There are a number of flashcarts by r4i-sdhc.com, not every one of them is compatible with the latest DSi/3DS firmware. The R4i 3DS B9S is pre-flashed with ntrboot, if you want to use it like a normal DS flashcart, you will have to flash it back to the normal DS firmware.

Setup Instructions (YSMenu)

1. Format the SD card you are using to FAT32
2. Download RetroGameFan YSMenu Fork 7.06
3. Extract the YSMenu .7z you downloaded using 7-zip or similar, then go into the DSTTi-Clone YSMenu folder.
4. From this folder, copy the following files/folders to your SD card root.
   • Games folder
   • TTMenu folder
   • TTMenu.dat
5. Download DEMON YSMenu flashcard-bootstrap.

6. Copy R4.dat to the root of your SD card.

7. Place any .nds game ROMs you’d like to play into the Games folder.
